Following his professional work within the Fisheries Monitoring Center at the Mesurado Pier, the Technical Office of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA), the FMC Supervisor, Mr. Abraham Saah, received his flowers through commendations from the European Union Delegation during the recent Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement meeting which was held early July 2018 in Monrovia, Liberia. Mr. Saah brought pride to NaFAA and Liberia at large by the timely and excellent submission of Technical Fisheries reports on the Liberian Fisheries Sector to the European Union.
As Part of the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement (SFPA), the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority through its Fisheries Monitoring Center (FMC) usually submit periodic reports to the European Union as part of the agreement entered into.
It can be recalled during the recent SFPA Meeting, the head of the European Union delegation to Liberia Ivan Vazquez highlighted that Liberia has over the months produced and transmitted splendid and excellent reports to the EU on the operation of Liberian Fisheries Sector through the Fisheries Monitor Center (FMC).
“An excellent report from the Liberian FMC, from one Abraham Saah where is he?” Vazquez requested the Liberian delegation headed by NaFAA’s Boss Emma Metieh-Glassco to have Mr. Abraham Saah attend the International Fisheries meeting in order to have enabled him receive his honor in the presence of his bosses. Vazquez says, “Liberia’s report is unique and far better than what we receive from other West African Countries”.
Upon his arrival in the SFPA meeting on the request of the EU Delegation, he was immediately greeted with cheers from EU delegation and all his bosses including Mrs. Glassco, Mr. Willam Boeh, Deputy Director General for Technical Affairs and Mr. Augustine Manoballah, Deputy Director General for Administration, as well as other senior staffs of NaFAA.
With appreciation from the report given by the European Delegation, Director General Emma Metieh-Glassco pronounced a financial benefit for the celebrant who joyfully exchanged pleasantries with all those in attendance. it was a colorful event and all those in attendance were delighted over the excellent report from the European Union on Liberia.
