The newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Tsutomu Himeno, has paid a courtesy call on the Director General of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority, Mrs. Emma Metieh-Glassco.

Madam Glassco and Ambassador Himeno held closed-door discussions which centered on the transformation and development of the Liberian fisheries sector. The closed-door meeting was also attended by Hon. Charles Bright, Economic Advisor to the President of Liberia, H.E. George Manneh Weah.

It can be recalled a two man Japanese Fisheries delegation was in Liberia in August 2018 to tour facilities of the sector.

The visiting Japanese fisheries delegation was taken on a tour of some coastal counties including Montserrado, Bomi, Cape Mount and Grand Bassa Counties, at which time they expressed interest in assisting Liberia develop its fisheries sector.
