The Government of Liberia, through the National Fisheries & Aquaculture Authority, has received funding from the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) in support of the Integrated Fisheries Sector Strengthening Project (IFSSP) in Liberia and intends to apply part of the proceeds towards the recruitment of an Environmental Specialist.

The Integrated Fisheries Sector Strengthening Project (IFSSP) seeks to recruit the Environmental Specialist to assist the Project Team in in managing the implementation of the Environment and Social instruments of the project and ensure their compliance by the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and the requirements established in the Environmental and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP). This will include compliance with the national regulations and Environmental Protection and Management Laws of Liberia (EPML, 2002).
