The government of Liberia through the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) has received support from the World Bank Group toward the implementation of the “Liberia Sustainable Management of Fisheries Project (LSMFP)”, and intends to utilize part of the funds for recruitment of an Event Planning and Management Firm for the Organization of a Fisheries Investment Conference in Liberia.
The core objective of this assignment is to provide comprehensive event planning, coordination, and management services for the Fisheries Investment Conference. The goal is to ensure the successful execution of a professionally organized, strategically focused, and high-impact event that advances national priorities and attracts partnerships for investment in the fisheries and aquaculture sector. The conference will serve as a platform to highlight investment-ready opportunities, foster strategic partnerships, and promote knowledge exchange and innovation, ultimately contributing to sustainable growth of the sector.
Other specific objectives are to:
•Facilitate broad stakeholder engagement and participation;
•Showcase reforms and innovations in Liberia’s fisheries sector;
•Promote market linkages and sector visibility;
•Enhance the visibility of Liberia’s fisheries sector regionally and internationally; and,
•Provide a professional and secure environment that adheres to health and safety standards.
The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in performing the Services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brief corporate profile: technical and managerial capability of the firm, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills and staff, etc.)
The shortlisting criteria includes the following qualifications:
Firm Qualification Requirements and Composition of Key Experts:
•Proven track record of minimum five (5) years in planning and managing high level conferences and trade fairs in Africa or developing countries.
•At least successfully completed two (2) similar assignments, preferably in Africa or developing countries context with government agencies or donor funded projects.
•Experience working with government agencies, particularly in the fisheries or natural resources sector.
•Strong organizational and engagement skills evident by the number of successful high-level events organized
•Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to coordinate and network
•Knowledge of local context and COVID-19 health protocols.
•Multilingual capacity (English, French and local languages is an added advantage).
