Announcement

The government of Liberia through the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) announces to the public that on Friday, August 11, 2023, a Guinean Research Vessel “RV Lansana Conte”, hired under the World Bank Project, will arrive at the BMC Pier, Freeport of Monrovia.

The government has hired the Vessel for the conduct of a Comprehensive Stock Assessment on the living marine resources and ecosystem in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Liberia from 11 August 2023 to 30 August 2023.

This assessment will follow an official commissioning ceremony on the same day to mark the launch of the Comprehensive Research Assessment.

The stock assessment will cover demersal (mainly shrimps) and pelagic resources of the continental shelf of Liberia which allows for a synoptic overview of the distribution and abundance of resources within the EEZ.

NaFAA is delighted for this major accomplishment in the ongoing Liberia Sustainable management for Fisheries project, financed by the World Bank and look forward to the success of the exercise.
